Nearly everyone has a social media account these days.
Whether it be Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, etc, everyone is online. And your business should be no different!
As a business or service, your priority should be reaching people - gaining an audience. What better way to do that in the 21st century than be on social media?
What to post:
Whether it be posts, tweets, videos, or updates, make sure that everything adheres to your business and mission statement
Focus on your product or service that you are promoting!
Keep up with the latest trends and topics to reach more people!
Captions/Tweets:
Keep your captions related to your brand, product, or service if possible, or make it relatable for your audience!
Try to avoid typing paragraphs, but don’t omit any necessary information. If you think the caption is going to get long, grab your reader’s attention in the first couple lines to make them want to read on!
#Hashtagging works wonders to increase the number of people that see your content
Emojis!!! Related emojis can increase fluency on social media, making messages easier to understand and more believable
“Social media users interested in persuading others should use congruent emojis in their messaging”
Account overview:
Username: try to make your username as short and simple as possible, preferably your business name
If your desired username isn’t available, you can always add an underscore or a period in between words, but don’t overdo it!
Bio: again, short and sweet! Concisely describe your business’ mission statement or what your business does
Use emojis related to your business in your bio! It’s a cute look, and adds a colorful element to help describe your business some more
As a business profile, you can add a category (on Instagram) to describe your account, make use of it!
Profile (and header) picture: keep it minimalistic and simple; we don’t want the account to look messy or busy
Logos are a great profile picture choice, and a later blog will have more information on logo designs!
Stay tuned for a more detailed explanation on how you should design your business and carry that over to social media!
